Nixon Looking for More Offers

The athlete from Arizona, Mike Nixon, plays quarterback and safety, but might even project on the next level as a linebacker. He has some solid offers but wants more...

Mike Nixon, 6-2, 202, ATH, Phoenix (Ariz.) Sunnyslope, is having a great all-around year, looking good at both quarterback and safety for his Sunnyslope team. Nixon has some solid offers, but he knows that many of the programs he likes are waiting on him and he's trying to show them he's worthy of a scholarship offer.

Nixon has never done much weight work, and many scouts believe he'd be able to get up to 225 to 230 pretty easily and possibly project as a linebacker on the next level. Nixon attended UCLA's four-day camp and has in the past said that, if UCLA offered, he'd probably be compelled to commit.

Right now, Nixon has been offered by Arizona State, Arizona, San Diego State, Colorado State and Cal. Nixon said, though, overall his favorites are UCLA, Oregon, ASU, Colorado, Notre Dame and Northwestern

Nixon has sent out highlight tapes from his first couple of games in the hopes of garnering more offers. He intends to wait a while to hear back from some of the schools he's sent tapes before he sets his official visits.
