Curtis Justus, 6-7, 215, Perry (Okla.) High, has had a great senior season so far. In six games, at tight end, he's caught 28 passes for 340 yards. At defensive end, he's recorded 14 sacks.
It's also pretty evident how good Justus is by the schools that are recruiting him, and the schools he'll officially visit.
Justus' first official visit will be to UCLA October 19th, during a bye week in his football schedule. He then will visit Oklahoma December 1st, Florida State January 11th, Miami January 18th, and said he'll visit Michigan also, but hasn't arranged the details or date of the visit.
Justus said it's down to those five programs, and he has a leader. "Miami," Justus said. "But I want to see all of the schools before I make a decision. Things can definitely change. I want to take all my trips. That's the plan." Justus said that his parents intend to go on every official visit with him to help him keep things in perspective and learn about the school.
Justus said he visited Miami unofficially last summer when he attended their camp, and has seen Oklahoma, but has never been to California.
He said he'd ideally like to stay close to home, even though he said his parents have no preference whether he stays close or goes away to school. But how well he fits in at the program and the strength of his major is more important to Justus. "The programs I'm looking at are all doing well so far. But the education is important. I want to major in sports medicine or engineering, and I want to see how good each program is at each school. I think whoever sells themselves the best on that will have an edge."
Justus said he has a 3.8 GPA and scored a 25 on his ACT.
