DT Prospect Jasper Henry

He's taking his first official visit this weekend with his teammate, Jerome Boyd, to another Pac-10 school, but Los Angeles Dorsey defensive tackle Jasper Henry makes some strong indications that UCLA would have a good shot with him...

Like his Dons teammate, safety Jerome Boyd, Dorsey defensive tackle Jasper Henry (6-2, 260) has no time to sulk about his team's exit from the City Section playoffs, as he is set to officially visit Washington this weekend.

"It was a hard weekend for me," Henry said. "We had the game but couldn't pull it out. Now it's time to focus on recruiting. I'm getting started this weekend when me and my boy Jerome (Boyd) visit Washington," said Henry.

After he visits Washington, Henry will go to Colorado State next weekend, as the Rams are one of his two offers.

"Right now, Washington is probably my favorite, since they are recruiting me the hardest. But if UCLA were to offer me, they would probably be my #1. They still are recruiting me, but I think Washington may offer me this weekend."

In addition to the Bruins and Huskies, Henry is being recruited by Colorado State, Oregon, Oregon State, Nevada (his other offer) and Fresno State.

As for the Bruins, Henry grew up a UCLA fan, and he is hoping they accelerate their recruitment of them. "I could definitely see myself playing there. I grew up a UCLA fan. I went to a couple of their games this year. I'd like to stay in the Pac-10. Coach (Eric) Bieniemy and Coach (Don) Johnson, they are the ones recruiting me."

Henry and Boyd will visit Washington together and the pair talk about playing in college together as well. "We're close friends. We talk about it all the time. It would be cool," said Henry.

Henry, who is considered very quick for a DT, running a 4.7 40 and 4.3 shuttle at the Nike Camp, had 13 sacks this season for the Dons.

He is on the way to being fully qualified academically by NCAA standards.
