UCLA Trips in Nine Recruits

UCLA has a total of nine recruits taking their official visits this weekend, including an offensive line prospect and a JC linebacker that weren't known to be visiting...

Committed recruits visiting:

OL Shannon Tevaga
OL Nathaniel Skaggs
OL Brian Abraham

Non-committed recruits visiting:

WR Marcus Everett
TE/DE Caesar Rayford
OL Aaron Klovas
TE Andrew Pettes
OL Chris Joseph
JC LB Dan Nelson

Joseph is a prospect UCLA has been watching since last summer. He looks to have grown quite a bit, now appearing to be 6-5 and close to 280. He looks very good physically, with a body that is put together well and looks like it could get quite a bit bigger. He also is still just 16 years old, not turning 17 for another month.

Nelson, pictured above, is listed at 6-2 and 235, and looked about that when he was in attendance with the rest of the visiting recruits at the basketball game Saturday night. He is a freshman at Arizona Western College, originally from Boise, Idaho. He was qualified out of high school, is able to transfer after this semester, and will have four years to play three, according to sources. he apparently spent time in the military and is older. Some close to the JC football ranks report that Nelson is a prospect with very good character, and good academics. He was named pre-season second team NJCAA All-American, and made first team all WSFL (Western States Football League).

As of Saturday night, there was no indication that any of the recruits had verbally committed. But we'll try to contact the prospects today and get their impressions of their visits.
