TE Pettes Talks About Visit

Andrew Pettes has emerged as one of the best tight end prospects on the west coast. He talks about his official visit to UCLA last weekend, and about the three other schools he's considering...

With already one tight end from Arizona committed, UCLA brought in another one from the Phoenix area this past weekend, when Phoenix (Ariz.) Moon Valley tight end Andrew Pettes (6-5, 230) took his official trip to UCLA.

"It was a real good time. I enjoyed it. I got there on Friday afternoon, and it was an academic day, then we went to dinner," said Pettes.

Pettes was hosted by fellow Arizona native Junior Taylor.

"Junior was my host. He was cool. He showed me around the campus," said Pettes.

On Saturday, Pettes and the other visiting recruits went to practice and spent some time with their respective recruiters. "Coach Bernardi is recruiting me. I also met and watched the tight ends in practice. I met Coach Dorrell. He is a good guy," said Pettes.

They also spent Saturday at the Rose Bowl, and had jerseys with their numbers on them. "Mine had number 99 on it. That's my number now. It's always bum when we have to give them back," said Pettes.

UCLA offered Pettes prior to the trip, and though the trip was glowing, he said all four of his schools are pretty even. Pettes has already visited Washington State and Arizona State and will visit Oregon in January. "I'm not sure when in January I'll take the trip but I know that I will go. I'll make my decision after the Oregon trip and before signing day," said Pettes.

He is carrying a 3.0 GPA and is qualified for college.
