UCLA announced that wide receivers Tab Perry and Jacques Lazarus will not be with the team next year.

Perry, who started for the 2002 season, was academically ineligible for the 2003 season. Head Coach Karl Dorrell said he has been dismissed from the University, and given his unconditional release. Perry indicated that he will enroll at a Division IAA school, as yet undetermined.

"We were hopeful that Tab would be able to rejoin the team for the 2004 season but that didn't work out," said Dorrell. "We will do what we can to help place him at a Division IAA school and we wish him the best of luck in the future."

Lazarus, who was a redshirt sophomore this season and was perpetually buried on the depth chart, was given his release to transfer.

UCLA can use the open scholarships. It has indicated it intended to give out the maximum amount of scholarships to incoming recruits for next fall, and will still need more to open up to do so.
