The true junior cornerback, Matt Ware, announced today that he'll forego his senior season and enter the NFL Draft...
"After reflecting upon this decision for a long time, and discussing it with my family, I have decided to take the next step to the NFL," Matt Ware
announced today. "This decision is based primarily on my belief that I am ready to play in the NFL and information I have received supporting that belief. I have enjoyed my time at UCLA and wish my teammates and coaches good luck in 2004. I will always be a member of the Bruin family."
It had been known for sometime that Ware was contemplating the move. Sources had said that if Ware had received indications from the NFL that he'd go in the first or second rounds he would declare.
"Matt has had a fine career at UCLA," said head coach Karl Dorrell. "We were hopeful he would choose to play his senior year, but he and his family have made an informed decision and we support it. We certainly wish Matt the best of luck at the next level."
