"I have offers from Idaho and Sacramento State. I'm visiting UCLA this weekend, then Arizona the weekend of the 30th. UCLA and Arizona haven't offered me, but I'll know a lot more when I take my trips to each place," said Cowan, the younger brother of Bruin freshman receiver Joe Cowan.
Cowan tripped to Sacramento State two weekends ago, then went to Idaho last weekend.
"Idaho was a great trip. I had a good time there. I really liked Coach (Jonathan) Smith (Idaho's QB coach and former Oregon State quarterback). The weather there on the trip wasn't as bad as I expected it to be. I really liked it," said Cowan.
Now, Cowan will trip to UCLA in hopes of receiving an offer from the Bruins.
"I'd love to be a Bruin. If I am lucky enough to get a chance to do that, it would be great. I'm not sure if they will offer me. If they did, I'd probably talk it over with my parents before making a decision. I like all four schools a lot. If UCLA or Arizona didn't offer me, I'd go to Sacramento State or Idaho. I'd take the scholarships over walking-on."
Cowan only started for one season at St. John Bosco, putting him in a recruiting hole, but his brother Joe was a late-bloomer and panned out nicely.
"I think Joe would like me to go to UCLA. It would be cool to play with him there."
This past season, Bosco went 7-4 and Cowan was 92-for-197, throwing for 1,101 yards and 5 TD's while rushing for 4 TD's.
He has a 3.7 GPA and achieved a qualifying score on his SAT.
