Chris Vaughn Still Deciding

The wide receiver from the Connecticut prep school, Chris Vaughn, is still struggling with his decision. With three finalists, the recent wave of in-home visits with the coaches he said has only made the decision tougher...

It will be Signing Day before anyone finds out which National Letter of Intent Oakdale (Conn.) St. Thomas More receiver Chris Vaughn, 6-4, 205, will sign.

"I am having a hard time deciding on the final school, but the same three schools are my finalists," said Vaughn. "I will sign with one of them on Wednesday."

Vaughn had narrowed his top three down to Iowa, Notre Dame and UCLA, and had hoped to eliminate one of them, but their in-home visits with him recently went so well, he kept all three in the mix.

"All the coaches' visits went really well. I like what each school and each coaching staff has to offer. I can't make a favorite because I like them all for different reasons," said Vaughn."

Having taken trips to each of his three finalists (Vaughn also visited Boston College and Michigan State) last week was the in-home visit week, and the UCLA staff made a strong impression on him.

"I really like the coaches at UCLA, Coach (Karl) Dorrell and Coach (Jon) Embree. Coach Dorrell was in the NFL, and knows how to coach NFL receivers. They have a real good staff."

Vaughn also had a strong liking for the Iowa and Notre Dame staffs as well.

"All three schools, I will be able to do well at with the coaches there. I just want to make my decision and focus on where I am going to play. This is getting tiring."

Vaughn is fully qualified.
