JR DB Prospect Trason Bragg

The Los Angeles (Calif.) Loyola product, Trason Bragg, grew up a diehard UCLA fan and talks fondly about them, and provides us his plans for the spring and summer...

Trason Bragg, 5-11, 200, Los Angeles (Calif.) Loyola, was a first team all-league selection after a junior year in which he ran for 1,102 yards and 14 touchdowns. On defense, from his strong safety spot, he had 49 tackles and two sacks. He was an all-state nominee and led his league in yards and touchdowns.

He did this despite being nagged by a shoulder injury which he sustained last summer during a passing camp.

"I tore my rotator cuff at a camp," Bragg said. "That is why I have not been doing much upper-body weight training like the bench or the clean."

Bragg was invited to the Army All-American combine and attended, but did not compete due to the injury.

He has been attending the UCLA summer camps since he was in seventh grade and plans to do so again this year. He will also be at the Bruins' Junior Day.

"I have liked UCLA for a long time. I love the atmosphere there and even though they have not been the greatest on the field lately, I think they will be back up to par soon. You cannot go wrong going to UCLA, especially with the academics."

Trason also lists Oregon, Michigan, Ohio State, Texas, Washington State, and Arizona State.

He likes the defense the Sun Devils run. "They have that three safety defense there and I think I could play early as a true or redshirt freshman. They are also not too far from home."

So that begs the question: does Bragg wants to play strong safety or tailback in college? "I am hoping to play strong safety, but I do not have a problem with tailback. I guess it will just depend on where the schools see me at."

In addition to the UCLA camp, Trason has already RSVPd to travel to the Michigan and Ohio State camps. He will most likely attend ASU's and the Stanford Nike Camp as well.

Bragg carries a 2.8 core GPA and is taking his SAT on May 1st. He would like to major in Psychology and is also looking at Business.
