Long Beach Poly LB Jason Brown

After starting at linebacker for just the last four games of the season for Long Beach (Calif.) Poly, Jason Brown could be one of the best linebacker prospects in SoCal. He said he'd like to stay close to home for college...

Jason Brown, 6-1 ½, 203, Long Beach (Calif.) Poly, had a good showing at the MSL Combine in Los Angeles Saturday.

Physically, he passes the test, and has a body that could easily put on more bulk while he tested well and looked agile in the drills.

Probably considered Poly's best returning linebacker, Brown only started at the position in Poly's last four games, playing strong safety before that. On the season, he recorded 85 tackles, two fumble recoveries, 3 interceptions and 2 touchdowns.

To date, Brown has no scholarship offers, but said is hearing from a list of favorites that include USC, UCLA, Oregon and Arizona.

"My favorite is probably USC," Brown said. "I'd like to stay close to home, but I'd consider anyone who's interested in me and would offer me a scholarship."

He said he has a 2.5 GPA and will take the SAT next month.
