Hairston to Take Longer to Decide

Malik Hairston, the 6-6 McDonald's All-American from Detroit (Mich.) Renaissance, was supposed to decide and announce this weekend. But sources now indicate it could take even longer, and could involved another official visit, or two...

Sources close to the recruiting of Malik Hairston, 6-5 SR SF, Detroit (Mich.) Renaissance, are indicating that Hairston probably will now take an official visit to Oklahoma, and could even visit another school after that.

Hairston had said he would meet with his family and coaches this weekend and make a decision. But after the meeting, there are reports that Hairston has now decided to visit Oklahoma officially. He more than likely wouldn't be able to visit Oklahoma until after he participates in the Jordan Capital Classic all-star game Saturday, April 17th. However, the word is that Hairston could only make the Oklahoma visit a 24-hour one, rather than two days.

Sources also said there was a possibility he could visit another school in addition to Oklahoma. It is confirmed that coaches from Oregon had an in-school visit with Hairston this week and, if Hairston did indeed take a fifth visit, it could be to Eugene.

So, Hairston's decision and announcement might not happen for up to a couple more weeks.

Hairston has already visited Ohio State, Kansas and UCLA. He also is considering Michigan.

The first day of the spring signing period is Wednesday, April 14th, and it runs through May 19th
