Alex Potasi, 6-6, 320, Harbor City (Calif.) Narbonne, said he has two schools that are currently leading the pack for him.

"Washington and UCLA," Potasi said. "Those two are even right now."

Potasi said he liked Washington because they've continued to call him consistently, and he likes UCLA since it's so close to home. He made it pretty clear, though, that staying close to home was a big priority. "It means a lot to me," he said. "I'd like to be close to my family and stay where I grew up."

Washington has offered Potasi a scholarship, and Potasi said that UCLA had indicated they could be offering him a scholaship very soon.

Potasi is also considering USC, Oregon and Nebraska. Potasi had verbally committed to USC under former head coach Paul Hackett. But the new coaching staff and Potasi had agreed mutually for him to de-commit. Since then, Potasi said USC is still recruiting him and he's still very much interested in the Trojans. "I just heard from them today," Potasi said Wednesday. "They told me they want more film on me and are still re-evaluating me."

The impressive-looking prospect has an official visit arranged for Washington on December 7th. He had a visit set up with Arizona but that has been cancelled. Potasi has spoken to UCLA about an official visit but nothing has been set up formally. He attended two UCLA home games this year and said he enjoyed them quite a bit.

Potasi said that if UCLA offered him "UCLA would be the clear favorite."

He said he has a 2.5 GPA and scored a 1020 on his SAT.
