Aleksey Lanis (6-5, 313, Los Angeles Crenshaw), has verbally committed to UCLA, according to sources. Lanis looked very good at the recent Nike Camp in San Diego, looking agile for his size and bulk. He is also a very articulate and intelligent young man, while maintaining a 3.8 GPA and having already achieved a 1210 SAT.

Lanis had also been offered a scholarship by Stanford, while also getting serious interest from Michigan, Oregon, Florida and Notre Dame. He is the second offensive line prospect to commit early to the Bruins. Jesse White, 6-3, 287 Denver (Col.) Mullen, committed back in February. White and Lanis are both considered among the best offensive line prospects in the west, and even nationally.

It's UCLA's fourth commitment overall, with the Bruins also having commitments from running back/defensive back Aaron Ware and quarterback prospect Osaar Rasshan.
