Kyle Reed, the 6-2, 200-pound quarterback prospect from Oakland (Calif.) McClymonds, has quickly become one of the hottest quarterback prospects in the west.

"He is one of the very best in the country, without a doubt," said quarterbacks guru Roger Theder at TheInsiders/MSL Combine in Berkeley. "Kyle has all the tools to make it big. He possesses a very quick release and great feet."

Reed's skills have earned him offers from around ten schools, including all of his top five. "My top five are UCLA, Cal, USC, Oregon State, and Washington State," said Reed. Cal is my favorite right now."

Berkeley is where his parents want him to go to school. However, USC and UCLA are making strong cases for him to bring his talents to the southern part of the state.

"I really like Coach Carroll at 'SC," Reed said. "He has NFL experience and is at the top of the college game. He knows what he is doing."

The Bruins have something that the other schools on his list do not. "UCLA has a black head coach and I really like that. He is a very nice guy, too. They also have a lot of minorities on their staff."

The rest of Kyle's summer camp plans include attending the USC overnight camp, the Cal full-contact camp, and the Fresno State one-day affair.
