JR Guard Christian Polk Has Offers

He's among the best guards in the west for the class of 2006, and Christian Polk from Arizona already has a couple of offers. There are three schools showing him the most love early on...

Christian Polk, 6-2 junior shooting guard, Glendale (Ariz.) Deer Valley, is one of the best two-guards in the west for the class of 2006. He can not only score, but having played extensively as a point guard, can handle the ball and is a good passer.

In fact, he says many colleges are recruiting him for both positions. "They're recruiting me as a combo guard," Polk said. "That's fine, too. I like playing both positions."

To date, Polk has scholarship offers from ASU and Florida State.

"UCLA is also serious. Kansas is recruiting me hard, and Texas. And most of the Pac-10 schools," Polk said. "The schools showing me the most interest are ASU, UCLA and Florida State."

Polk said he didn't have a favorite at this point. ‘It's really too early. I'm still wide open and want to consider anyone who wants me."

Polk said he doesn't care about staying close to home for college. "I'll go anywhere. It doesn't matter. I'll go away from home or stay close. Whatever is the best situation."

He did say he has a preference for programs that like to run. "Run and gun, that's what I like to do, get up and down the court," Polk said. "Playing time will also be a factor. I want to be able to play early."

He said he has a 3.3 GPA and hasn't taken the SAT yet.
