Offensive Line Prospect David Moosman

Illinois offensive lineman David Moosman plays under a former teammate of UCLA coach Karl Dorrell, and the Bruins make this Midwesterner's Top 5.

Amongst a top five that includes the top schools in the Midwest, UCLA finds itself on the list of Libertyville (Ill.) offensive lineman David Moosman, 6-4, 260.

"I've narrowed it down to Michigan, Iowa, Wisconsin, Notre Dame and UCLA," said Moosman, one of the top interior lineman in the nation.

With the majority of his schools being in the Midwest, the sight of UCLA on there is peculiar, but Moosman cleared that up quickly.

"I have family that lives in Los Angeles. And our defensive line coach (Bryan Wilcox) played there so he talks about it a lot," said Moosman.

When Wilcox was a freshman, his teammate was head coach Karl Dorrell.

Moosman camped at all of his other four favorites this summer, never quite making it out to the West Coast, but he plans to visit UCLA this Fall.

"I never got out there, but the camps I went to this summer were real good for me.

Though he didn't attend any of the Nike Camps, Moosman said that going to the team camps, specifically for a lineman, were beneficial.

"I learned a lot about techniques and how to block better. Its good going up against some top quality linemen."

So is Moosman in any kind of hurry to make a decision given he has offers from his top five, and has already been to four of the five?

"Not really. I want to take my official trips, then I'll decide. I'll see how the teams do this year. I want to enjoy the recruiting process before I make a decision," said Moosman.

Moosman has a 3.0 GPA and took his ACT.
