A Leader for D'Andre Bell

The 6-4 senior wing from Palisades High, D'Andre Bell, has a favorite at this time. He has visits set for two programs so far...

D'Andre Bell, 6-4 SR SG Pacific Palisades (Calif.) Palisades, gave us an update yesterday on his recruitment.

"I'm visiting Georgetown on September 9th and Michigan State on September 16th," Bell said. "My parents said I could visit Georgia Tech on the 24th, but we haven't spoken with the coaches there yet. Arizona is looking at game tape, since they didn't see me much in the summer. And I may visit UCLA in October."

Asked if any school stands out at this time, Bell said, "I'd have to say Michigan State is probably the favorite. I love the coaches there. Coach Izzo is one of the best in the game -- he's won a championship. Magic Johnson played there and that could help me with networking. And while they have a great tradition, they're also a good team now."

We asked Bell about the process of making a decision.

"My parents want me to do what's best for me," said Bell. "They'll have a say, though, along with some other people in my life -- Rock Johnson (AAU coach), my high school coach and my grandparents. We'll sit down after the trips and talk about each school."
