How Close Was Potasi?

The lineman from Harbor City Narbonne, Alex Potasi, comes home from his UCLA visit and talks about how close he came to committing. He also had a little company on his visit...

Alex Potasi, 6-6, 320, Harbor City (Calif.) Narbonne said he came really close to committing to UCLA today.

"I was going to commit today," he said. "I was leaving the hotel and I felt like doing it. But then I decided to stick with the plan and finish all my trips."

Potasi will visit Cal on January 11th. He visited Washington last week. When comparing the UCLA and Washington visits, he said, "I feel more comfortable at UCLA. It's closer to home. The coaches were great. It was a lot of fun."

Also on his official visit to UCLA this weekend was Potasi's teammate, running back Marcus O'Keith, who also visited Washington last weekend and is planned to also visit Cal on January 11th. Potasi said that he thinks O'Keith is leaning toward UCLA, too. "From what he told me, yeah." Potasi said there's a very realistic chance that he and O'Keith would be a package deal to UCLA, but the commitments will more than likely be on hold until after they both visit Cal. "I really want to take my last trip," Potasi said. "And so does Marcus."
