Simpson has already solidified one of his trips, the only one he has set in stone.
"I am tripping to UCLA the first weekend in December. I'm looking forward to visiting California and the Rose Bowl. It's the weekend they play USC so it's a good weekend for me to check it out," said Simpson.
The Bruins have offered Simpson, his lone offer from the West, to go along with official offers from Nebraska, North Carolina, Virginia, Vanderbilt, Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Syracuse, Louisville, Michigan State, Indiana, Boston College, West Virginia and Connecticut. Recently, USC got in contact with him, though no offer has come yet.
"It's been pretty cool," said Simpson. "I've heard from a lot of schools (since September 1st), but now I am ready to start narrowing them down." Aside from UCLA, Simpson said he will be setting up visits with Virginia, Nebraska and Alabama. Ohio State and Michigan State will battle for the fifth and final visit, but Simpson said if some other big-named schools offer, they could sneak in.
Simpson is being recruited by UCLA defensive line coach Don Johnson, as well as running back Eric Bieniemy.
Simpson said he will begin to set up the dates for the official trips in the next couple of weeks, and hopes to fill his fifth spot soon.
He has rushed for around 240 yards for Harrisburg.
Simpson has a 2.8 GPA and scored 890 on his SAT.
