UCLA Interested in 2005 Wing

He is Michael Roll, the 6-4 shooting guard from Aliso Viejo (Calif.) High. Already having verbally committed to another school, Roll now has an interesting situation in front of him...

Mike Roll, 6-4 SR SF/SG Aliso Viejo (Calif.) High, verballed earlier this month to UC Santa Barbara, but he's now reconsidering his options after receiving interest from two top Pac-10 programs.

Stanford told Roll that a scholarship offer would be forthcoming if he could improve his SAT score to 1200. Roll said that he took the SAT again earlier this month and he hasn't yet received the results.

In addition to the Cardinal, another Pac-10 program has entered the picture for the #6 ranked small forward in the west. Roll was at UCLA this afternoon watching a Bruin practice and he was offered a scholarship by head coach Ben Howland after the practice.

We spoke with Roll this evening and asked him about his options.

"UCLA offered a scholarship and I'm thinking about it," said Roll. "I'll probably have a decision by early next week."
