UCLA Steps it Up With Robinson

UCLA is hanging in with an elite offensive tackle prospect from Georgia, Duke Robinson. He gives us an update on his recruitment and his final six schools...

While it still looks like it could be tough to get Atlanta (Ga.) Washington offensive tackle Duke Robinson (6-5, 335), out of Georgia, some out-of-state schools are trying hard with him, and hoping at least for an official visit.

"Georgia and Oklahoma are my leaders," Robinson said. "But I'm still looking at Ohio State, Florida, UCLA and LSU. All those schools are still in it." Robinson has a good deal of offers from around the country but insisted that it's really down to the stated six. He said, "Yes, those are really the schools I am looking at."

For a while, it appeared that UCLA had been eliminated from the race for Robinson, but he said that they have been persistent in their contact and recruiting. "UCLA has been recruiting me hard lately. I've been hearing from them a lot right now."

UCLA running back coach Eric Bieniemy is recruiting Robinson.

Robinson will take his first official visit next weekend, when he heads out to Norman when Oklahoma hosts Nebraska.

He has a 2.8 GPA and is planning to take the SAT this weekend.
