UCLA Hanging in With Elite Linebacker

Ryan Reynolds, the #4-ranked linebacker in the country, has had every elite program in the nation pursue him. UCLA has kept fighting to stay in it with him, and it's looking like it's paying off...

Bishop Gorman (Nev.) linebacker Ryan Reynolds (6-2, 220, 4.65) still says Oklahoma leads slightly over UCLA, Notre Dame, LSU and Wisconsin.

"Oklahoma is still my leader but a couple things have changed," says Reynolds. "My top three schools are now Oklahoma, UCLA and Notre Dame. Miami and Washington have dropped of the list because they didn't really work out with where I want to go for schools.

"Oklahoma is one of the official visits I've taken, but I'm still waiting to take my other ones as well. I like the coaching staff there especially coach (Brent) Venables (LBs). The whole program there is great and I liked the whole feel of my official visit when I was down there.

"UCLA's location is great and I really like coach (Brian) Schneider (OLBs) and the rest of the coaching staff. They kind of have the same idea as I do as far as playing OLB instead of ILB.

"Notre Dame entered the picture because I've gotten a lot of calls from coaches (Tyrone) Willingham and (Kent) Baer (def coord). They explained a lot of what they'd want from me as an OLB. I've heard a lot of great things about them and I kind of just want to go there and check it out.

"I'll decide where I want to go as soon as I'm done with my official visits. And I don't think it will be necessary to drag this whole process out until signing day."

Reynolds is ranked the #4 linebacker in the country by Scout.com.

He will officially visit Notre Dame and either LSU or Wisconsin after the season.

He has a 3.5 GPA and scored a strong 24 on the ACT.
