It's a big weekend for UCLA in football recruiting, obviously, with these recruits planning to take their official visits. UCLA, with tripping in the rest of their currently committed recruits, is trying to get some comraderie built among the committed and non-committed recruits, and get some recruiting done.

Charles Brown is another soft verbal to USC who also curiously said that USC and UCLA are even.

Roy Miller is an elite defensive tackle prospect from Texas that UCLA would love to get but Texas is the clear leader at this point. A very good official visit would be key to swaying him toward UCLA.

Rumors abound that Jeremy Childs is tired of the recruiting process and will verbally commit to UCLA this weekend. He had been close to committing early, before his season. A rumor also said that Childs is waiting to see if Ben Olson, UCLA's big quarterback target, will verbally commit. Olson told us last week that he'd decide by Friday of this week. He took an official visit to Cal this last weekend, but no word yet on how that visit went. If Olson does verbally commit to UCLA by the weekend, you can expect him to be a pretty integral part in recruiting the players who are taking official visits this weekend.
