Smith Confirms He's a Bruin

The newest Bruin, wide receiver prospect Antwuan Smith from Buchanan, comments on why he chose UCLA over Oregon...

Antwuan Smith, 5-11, 180, Clovis (Calif.) Buchanan, said it was a tough decision, but he picked UCLA over Oregon because it was a better fit for him.

"It was realy hard to decide," he said. "I was very impressed when I went to Oregon. It was better than I thought. Their facilities and their coaching are great. But with UCLA, I just thought it would fit me better, in both football and personally. The whole thing, Los Angeles, the campus, the weather. I thought it'd be better for me there."

Smith said that he's pretty close with another Fresno area-player, Aaron Miller, and said he would be starting to recruit Miller to be a Bruin. "I talked to him about a week ago and he was talking about Oklahoma," Smith said. "But I'll get him back." Smith said that he met and became friends with Jarrad Page during the CaliFlorida Bowl week and that he'd start trying to compel Page to be a Bruin. "Now I have to try to get all the best players who are left to come with me," Smith said.
