Sherman Oaks (Calif.) Notre Dame defensive end Tony DeMartinis, (6-4 ½, 225) has already verbally committed to San Diego State.

But he took an official visit to UCLA this last weekend.

"I'm still solidly a commit to the Aztecs, but I thought I'd check out UCLA. My dad played there and they have some interest in me still so I thought I'd take a look," said DeMartinis.

DeMartinis had committed to the Aztecs at the beginning of January, seemingly ending his recruitment. But UCLA's was interested enough to set up an official visit, and DeMartinis took them up on it.

"I didn't get an offer from UCLA," DeMartinis said. "Coach Dorrell said that they are waiting on some guys so that's why they didn't offer, but I may know something during the week. But like I said, I'm pretty solid on the Aztecs right now."

DeMartinis was hosted by freshman defensive lineman Nathaniel Skaggs. "Nate was real cool, and I hit it off real well with the other recruits there. It was a cool trip. The campus is real nice and I thought they were all a bunch of good guys."

DeMartinis has a 3.7 GPA, scored a 26 on his ACT and an 1110 on his SAT, easily qualifying him for college.
