UCLA has already received one commitment from an offensive lineman, and is going to one of the Southland's most traditionally prolific football schools to try and secure another.

La Puente (Calif.) Bishop Amat's Brandon Bennett (6-6, 340) is a mammoth offensive lineman that the Bruin staff offered prior to Junior Day, and he's at the top of UCLA's wanted list.

"Right now, UCLA is my leader. Them, Colorado and USC are my top three," said Bennett.

At Junior Day, Bennett first spent time with Bishop Amat alum and UCLA recruiting coordinator Eric Bieniemy. "Coach Bieniemy is a pretty cool guy. He's real famous at Bishop Amat," said Bennett. "Coach (Tom) Cable, he is a nice guy, too. And Coach (Karl) Dorrell, he really pushes for a family atmosphere at UCLA. I really liked the coaches there. They told me about the whole recruiting process, showed me the campus. It was nice and I really enjoyed it."

While he didn't give a commitment, Bennett said the Bruins offer made them a strong candidate for his services. Playing in the Bruins favor is his family's preference, with Bennett saying, "My family really likes UCLA."

Aside from his top three schools, Bennett is also getting attention from Kansas and Oregon.

For the camp circuit, Bennett will be at the Nike Camp in Los Angeles next month and will be at the UCLA and USC camps this summer.

Bennett's has a wide range when it comes to a potential timetable for a decision. "I could decide this summer, and get it over with before the season, and take the pressure off, or I might wait until after the season. I know it will be over before next February," said Bennett.

Academically, Bennett carries a 2.8 and will take the SAT on May 7.
