Now, after moving to Lancaster from North Mesquite, he's hoping a big senior year can turn the letters into offers.
"I'm hearing from a whole bunch of schools," said Jackson. "I'm getting a bunch of letters. None have offered yet, but I hope some more camps and a good year will get me the offers."
The host of schools that Jackson is hearing from include Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Arizona, Florida, UCLA, Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Kansas, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Iowa State, Iowa, Indiana and Vanderbilt. He said, "A bunch of those schools said they want to watch some more film and evaluate me before offering."
Currently Jackson's top five consists of Nebraska, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Kansas State and Texas Tech.
There are a couple of others, too, that are close to his top five. "I also like Arizona and UCLA a lot. If I decide to leave this area, then those two schools would be good places to play," said Jackson. "I know UCLA likes to throw the ball and when I look at a school, I want to see that they throw a lot."
UCLA recruiting coordinator Eric Bieniemy is recruiting Jackson for UCLA.
Last season at North Mesquite, Jackson had 37 catches for 705 yards and 7 touchdowns, the team's leading receiver. He also returned punts and kicks.
He plans to attend a couple of team camps, primarily in the Southwest this summer, and will take trips before making any decisions.
Academically, Jackson is carrying a 3.5 GPA and takes the SAT in June.
