Fairfield (Calif.) High WR/DB DeLaShaun Dean (6-3, 190) was one of the offensive standouts at UCLA's Skills Camp and the tall, lanky athlete has been seeing a good deal of attention lately.

"I'm hearing from all of the Pac-10, Tennessee and Michigan the most," said Dean. "I have offers from Wyoming, Colorado and Colorado State right now."

Interestingly, Dean didn't list any of his offers in his group of favorites.

"My top five are UCLA, California, Michigan, Tennessee and Oregon," said Dean. He also indicated that, while he's pretty wide open, he'd prefer to stay in-state, if he can.

Dean is the teammate of top linebacker prospect Jamarr Robinson, and the pair have talked about playing together in college. "We talk about it all the time. He's got offers from some schools and I have some from other schools, but we'd like to go together and be a package," said Dean. "But at the same time, if it doesn't work out, we both have to do what's best for us."

At the UCLA Skills Camp, Dean was one of the top receivers, and said his performance there left him pretty confident. "I thought I looked really good there. (UCLA receivers) coach (Dino) Babers is a good coach and I just showed all that I could do," said Dean, who is being recruited by UCLA assistant, Jon Embree.

The question for Dean will be which way he plays. He said, "Some schools want me as a defensive back, some want me as a receiver. I don't really have a preference. Whatever gets me on the field and gets me a scholarship."

Dean has plans to attend the Nike Camp at Stanford and the Scout Combine in Berkeley next month.

As a junior, Dean had 25 catches for 750 yards and 7 touchdowns.

Dean has a 3.0 GPA and will take the SAT in June again, having taken it in March.
