It Looks Good With Terrence Austin

One of the best overall prospects in the west is wide receiver Terrence Austin from Long Beach Poly. He visited UCLA's campus Saturday, and he tells us that the Bruins are doing exceptionally well with him...

Probably some of the best recruiting news for UCLA – other than its nine early commitments – is how their recruitment of Terrence Austin, the 5-11, 180-pound wide receiver from Long Beach (Calif.) Poly, is going.

Austin was on UCLA's campus Saturday to watch the UCLA Adidas Elite Camp and spend time on campus.

During that time he did admit to us that UCLA is his favorite. "I really like it here," Austin said. "I could commit by the end of the summer."

Austin said before he does commit, he'd probably like to take some official visits. "I think I would, just for the experience, and to make sure that UCLA is the right choice for me. I could maybe visit Oregon, Colorado, Washington State and maybe Miami," he said. "I've told UCLA that I like them, and they have told me that if I want to take visits I should take them before committing. So, that's cool. But UCLA is looking good for me right now."

Not only is UCLA doing well with Austin, who is one of the best overall prospects in the west and perhaps its best wide receiver prospect, but the Bruins are also withstanding the recruiting onslaught of other schools. It's been reported that USC stepped up its recruitment of Austin after he turned in a dominating performance at the recent Los Angeles Nike Camp. When asked if he has interest in USC, Austin said: "I used to like USC, and they did show they like me a lot. But I just like everything about UCLA. Just everything is better for me here. I really like the coaches. The depth chart, I think, is wide open. I think I could come in and play and make an impact. And there are so many guys from Poly here, and I know them all pretty well. It's just a great situation for me."
