Denver (Colo.) Montbello defensive end Greg Banks (6-5, 260) is receiving frequent visits from coaches at school and is seeing some verbal scholarship offers become written offers.

Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa State, Kansas State and Arizona have extended official offers to him.

"Oklahoma said they'll be offering me soon, and so did UCLA, Syracuse, California and Arizona State," said Banks.

Growing up a Big 12 fan, it's no surprise that Banks has a preference to play his collegiate ball in the hometown conference.

"My top five schools are Oklahoma, Colorado, Kansas State, Iowa State and Nebraska," said Banks. "UCLA, Arizona and Syracuse are right there too, though. I just have always wanted to play in the Big 12."

Bruin tight end coach Jon Embree visited the Montbello campus on Monday, and Banks came away impressed. "Coach Embree is all about business. He is real straightforward and to the point. He said they liked me and think I'd fit in real good with their defense."

Banks hasn't been able to attend any camps thus far, but is planning to be at the Iowa State camp this summer.

In his junior season, Banks had 70 tackles, 4 sacks, 2 pass breakups, 1 interception, a forced fumble and a pair of fumble recoveries.

He plans to make his decision for college by the end of the summer. He said, "I want to be able to have it made before we start our season. I'm going to focus on my senior year."

Banks has a 3.2 GPA and will take the SAT on June 4th.
