Two-Way Dorsey Tackle Getting Looks

Cleveland Jones, the 6-5, 318-pound offensive & defensive tackle from Los Angeles (Calif.) Dorsey has two scholarship offers to date, and is hearing from more of the Pac-10 and an SEC school...

Los Angeles (Calif.) Dorsey has a good deal of top prospects in their Class of 2006, and one of those is versatile lineman Cleveland Jones (6-5, 318).

Jones can play either offensive tackle or defensive tackle, with no real preference for either side.

"I can play both ways. I don't really prefer one over the other. Whatever I can do to contribute," said Jones.

On the recruiting front, Jones has offers from Washington State and Arizona.

He's also hearing from Oregon, LSU, Arizona State and UCLA, USC. Those schools comprise his leader board, with Oregon and LSU being the top two.

"LSU has been coming on a lot lately. And Oregon I've been hearing a lot from. Jeremiah Johnson is going there and we've had some other guys from Dorsey go there."

Jones said UCLA and USC would both be ideal choices from him because of their proximity to home, but he's leaning towards going out of state.

"I think I want to try something new and maybe go to school outside of California," said Jones.

Jones will be at the Scout Combine this weekend in Los Angeles, and was also in attendance at the Nike Camp in L.A. last month.

Next weekend, he plans to make another appearance at a Nike Camp, heading up to the Stanford Nike Camp.

"I didn't do as well in the testing at Nike as I was hoping. I'll do better these next two camps," said Jones.

Jones plans to take his allotted five visits before making a decision.

He has a 2.4 GPA and will take the SAT in June.
