It was thought that Keefe, who has verbally committed to UCLA, would hold off on his official visit until after summer.
But Chase Budinger, the 6-7 junior small forward from Encinitas (Calif.) La Costa Canyon, will take his official visit to UCLA that weekend. Keefe, who is an AAU teammate and friend of Budinger's, will now be on his official visit the same weekend.
Budinger is one of UCLA's top recruiting targets for the class of 2006, and it's believed that Keefe taking his official visit the same weekend could help to persuade Budinger to be a Bruin.
UCLA currently has three scholarships to give for the class of 2006, with one already ear-marked for Keefe since he has verbally committed. UCLA would ideally like Budinger to fill one of the two remaining rides and then get a true low-post center prospect with the last remaining scholarship.
