Elite Fullback Has A Favorite

Mission Viejo's Chane Moline, probably the best fullback prospect in the west for 2006, has three schools he's favoring right now, and one of them is slightly ahead of the other two...

Mission Viejo (Calif.) fullback Chane Moline (6-1, 235), possibly the top fullback in the west coast class of 2006, said he currently has a slight favorite at this time, and it's because of the connections to that school.

"With my brothers both going to UCLA, it would be cool to play with them," Moline said. "I think my family would really like for us all to play together."

Moline is referring to his two older brothers, Chase, the defensive tackle who signed with UCLA in February, and Chad, the Saddleback College linebacker who will enroll at UCLA this fall.

Moline said the other two schools that are close to UCLA are USC and Ole Miss. He said, "Those three are the top ones, but I'm not going to make a decision anytime soon. I want to take all of my (official) trips and then I'll decide."

Moline also currently claims seven scholarship offers. "The seven are UCLA, Houston, USC, Utah, Ole Miss, Arizona and Washington," said Moline. "UNLV also has started recruiting me."

The CIF Division II Co-Offensive Player of the Year as a junior, Moline was a major reason that Mission Viejo finished with the #2 national ranking at the end of the season. He rushed for 1,872 yards on 218 carries (8.59 ypc), for 133.7 yards per game, despite being taken out in many blowouts. He also had 22 catches for 270 yards and scored 40 touchdowns on the season (38 rushing, 2 receiving).

Moline participated in the Los Angeles Nike Camp in April, running a 4.8 forty, clocking a 4.4 shuttle and repping 21 times on the bench.

He was also at the UCLA Skills Camp in April. In the one-on-ones, he showed nice pass-catching ability and played very physically.

Moline said he will skip team camps this summer, since Mission Viejo will be pretty active in seven-on-seven passing leagues, playing in two big tournaments. He will also work out at the Elite 11 Camp in July.

Moline has a 2.59 GPA and took the SAT over the weekend.
