Florida D-Tackle Likes West Coast

While the majority of his top schools come from the South, Jacksonville (Fla.) Jackson defensive tackle Jonathan Brown has some interest in the Los Angeles schools.

UCLA has shown some interest in Jacksonville (Fla.) Jackson defensive tackle Jonathan Brown, who has two scholarship offers.

South Carolina and Ole Miss have offered Brown, while in-state school Miami has shown strong interest. However, Auburn heads his list.

"I've got most of my leaders from the South, but UCLA and USC both are schools I've got interest in. I would like to try and visit them and see what its like to go to school in California. They have both had players from Florida that have gone and done well there. It will be hard for me to leave the South, but both of those schools are places I'd like to see," said Brown.

Brown's top five included Auburn, South Carolina, Ole Miss, West Virginia and Miami. Ohio State, USC and UCLA rounded out his top schools.

"I have to say that Auburn is my favorite. Look what they did last year. Miami was also a school I grew up watching. I'm going to Auburn's camp this July."

Brown attended the Jacksonville Scout Combine, running a 5.7 forty and jumping 21 inches.

As a junior, Brown recorded 55 tackles and 5 sacks for Jackson.

Brown said he didn't want to make an early decision, and wants to take some trips, including a possible one or even two, out west.

"L.A. is a place I'd like to visit and see. I might trip to UCLA or USC if I can," said Brown.

Academically, he has a 2.7 GPA and took the ACT last weekend.
