One of the fastest rising prospects in the Class of 2006 is Mansfield (Texas) High defensive end Adrian Taylor (6-5, 280).

Taylor has 21 scholarship offers so far, from most of the Big 12 and several other schools around the country.

"My favorites right now are Oklahoma, UCLA, Utah, Oklahoma State and Arizona," said Taylor, who is claiming offers from all five. "But at the same time, I'm really wide open."

Other schools Taylor has a good deal of interest in, and who have offered, are Kansas State, Kansas, LSU and Texas A&M.

A school who Taylor was hoping to hear from is Texas. He said, "Every time they said to call them, I would and wouldn't get through."

Recruiting Taylor for UCLA is defensive backs coach Gary DeLoach. "I've talked to Coach DeLoach. He's cool and he's got energy. I have a definite interest in UCLA," Taylor said.

Taylor indicated that he is nowhere near making a decision. "I have every intention of taking all five visits. I want to be able to see all the schools I'm interested in."

Taylor has really done well this spring, which has helped to garner so much recruiting attention. At a combine, Taylor ran a 4.79 and did 13 reps of 225 on the bench. During his junior year, Taylor recorded 90 tackles, nine sacks and a safety.

Academically, Taylor has a 3.3 GPA and took the ACT earlier this month.
