Bruins In On Wisconsin Receiver

UCLA is scouting Milwaukee (Wisc.) King receiver Lance Kendricks and the tall, speedy pass-catcher says he would like to take a visit to Westwood.

Milwaukee (Wisc.) King receiver Lance Kendricks (6-3 ½, 210) is one of the Midwest's top receivers and while he has the standard offers from Big Ten country, a couple of schools outside the region are showing interest in him.

"I've gotten offers from Wisconsin, Purdue, Indiana, Arkansas and LSU," said Kendricks. "Then I hear a lot from Notre Dame, Iowa, UCLA, Oklahoma and Michigan State."

Kendricks is being recruited by UCLA coach Brian Schneider.

"I'm seriously looking at UCLA. They like to throw the ball there and they always have real good receivers," Kendricks said.

Currently, hometown Wisconsin, LSU and Arkansas stand a top Kendricks favorites.

"I'm visiting LSU on October 22nd when they play Auburn. I'm going to visit Arkansas but the date hasn't been set and I'm going to be at the Michigan-Wisconsin game on Saturday night," said Kendricks. "The other two schools I'd like to visit are Oklahoma and UCLA."

Kendricks said he thinks UCLA could offer him after a few more games.

"I've done real well to start. I've got 15 catches for 300 yards and three touchdowns," Kendricks said. "My last game I had seven catches for 195 yards and two touchdowns."

With an offer from in-state Wisconsin, Kendricks said his family would like him to stay in state, but that he feels no added pressure to stay home.

"I like Wisconsin anyway, whether it's the local school or not," said Kendricks. "I want to take all five trips and look around though."

Academically, Kendricks has a 3.5 GPA and scored a 19 on the ACT, but will take it again in the fall.
