Blessed with good size and speed, Reese has seven scholarship offers and a couple of official visits set up. And while he didn't hear much from UCLA during the summer, Reese said the Bruins have been calling and are showing a strong interest in him.
Reese said his top five are Boise State, Utah, UCLA, Washington and Oregon State.
Reese, who is being recruited by UCLA special teams/linebackers coach Brian Schneider, attended the Bruins home games with Rice and with Oklahoma. He said: "The game against Oklahoma was real nice. I went down to the game against San Diego State too. I've been watching that school since I was little. If they offered me, they'd be number one. I've gotten to talk to some of the players there. Rodney Van and Marcedes Lewis, I've had a couple of conversations with them."
Reese has two visits set up, to Fresno State on December 3rd and to Utah on November 12th. He plans to set the other trips up later.
On the season, Upland is 2-1, and Reese has had a strong start. Through the first three games, he has 12 receptions for 218 yards and three touchdowns, including Friday night against Fontana when he had 3 catches for 90 yards and 2 touchdowns.
While he awaits more offers, Reese said his decision will be on hold. His plan is to take all five trips, then decide.
Academically, Reese said he was "doing well", carrying a 3.0 GPA and scoring a 1210 on the new SAT in his first shot. "I'm taking it again in October," said Reese. "I'll do better on it this time."
