Receiver Still Waits on UCLA

The wide receiver prospect from Los Angeles Crenshaw, Tyquan Knox, has Pac-10 offers, but he admits that he's waiting on an offer from UCLA...

Los Angeles (Calif.) Crenshaw receiver Tyquan Knox (6-0, 190) continues to fly under the radar of many schools, yet still is holding out hope a school in his backyard will extend the offer he wants.

"I got offered by Washington just recently and Arizona offered me a long time ago. Fresno State is going to offer me soon, but I'm still really waiting for UCLA to offer me," said Knox.

The biggest snag in getting a UCLA scholarship offer for Knox, who says he has a 2.8 GPA, is his standardized test scores. "UCLA said I need to get a better score on the ACT or the SAT and then they could offer me," said Knox. "I took the ACT two weeks ago and am taking the SAT in November."

And while a UCLA offer would be a huge get for Knox, he said he likely wouldn't commit immediately if offered. "They were my top school growing up but Arizona has been recruiting me the hardest and they were the first ones that offered me, so I'm going to look seriously at them," said Knox.

Knox is set to visit Arizona on December 10th and will visit Fresno State the first weekend in January.

"I'm also going to set up a trip to Washington and then hopefully take a trip to UCLA. Mississippi State is another school that just started talking to me, but I don't know if they will offer me or I will visit there," said Knox.

Knox has attended three UCLA home games this season, against Oklahoma, California and Washington.

He is having a workmanlike season for Crenshaw. Their win over Dorsey on Friday was a big one for him and his teammates. "We hadn't beaten Dorsey in a while so beating them was real big for us. We'll see them again so we can't get too happy with the win," said Knox, who had five catches for 79 yards in the game.
