Originally from Redmond, Washington, having played at North Carolina for two years, the 6-2 Morrison chose UCLA because of the feeling he got at UCLA on his visit. "When I visited UCLA I felt it was the right fit for me," Morrison said. "I really liked the coaches, players and the overall environment that UCLA has to offer. I felt it was important to me that with all my conversations with UCLA, everyone of them was with Coach Lavin."
Morrison also considered Oregon, Cal and Gonzaga among others.
Morrison has already thought about his summer schedule. "I'll probably just stay back here in Carolina and work some camps," he said. "Then possibly spend some time at home and head to UCLA in August."
Reportedly, Morrison will walk on for a year during his redshirt season and then receive a scholarship beginning with the 2003 season, when he will be a redshirt junior.
