It appears to be paying off for Henderson, as he has 13 scholarship offers, including one he recently received from UCLA.
"Coach Karl Dorrell came down this spring to see us and then he took some film and he said he was real impressed. I've talked with him and I really could see myself leaving and playing out at UCLA," said Henderson. "Me and Craig (Stevens) are going to take a trip out there in probably December. It's far, but distance doesn't matter too much to me."
"Michigan State and Ole Miss already have offered me. NC State, Clemson and Tennessee all are real close," said Henderson. "I probably will leave the state."
Henderson has taken one visit already, to Ole Miss in mid-October when the Rebels hosted Alabama. "It went great. I had a good time and the atmosphere was great there," said Henderson.
He is working on finalizing a trip to Michigan State.
Henderson said that all of his top schools are even and that he would need to eliminate one so he could take his five official trips. Then he would make a decision. "I want to take all the visits I can so I can see what each school offers for me," said Henderson. "It's my decision and while my mom is pushing for me to stay close to home, she knows I have to do what the best move for me is."
On the season, Henderson has a pair of interceptions and numerous tackles as well as four touchdowns as a receiver.
Academically, Henderson is in fine shape, holding a 3.67 cumulative grade point average and just awaiting his ACT score.
