Dorrell: "Team Rebounding"

One of UCLA's stars sits out most of practice, and Head Coach Karl Dorrell comments about how the team responded in their first pratice after the loss against Arizona...

Head Coach Karl Dorrell after Tuesday's practice:

"Today was a really good sign of a team rebounding, we had some energy, playing fundamental football, practicing technique and skills, recreating the things we need to do to improve to have a better performance this weekend. The spirit is back and that's what fun to see. I knew they had the character within them to respond, but they really responded with a great attitude and some great work today."

On the hitting that went on during practice:

"Both sides of the ball were pretty active today, get some of the frustration out."

On Maurice Drew's status:

"We wanted to keep him limited. The MRI results were inconclusive, so there's no issues, but he is sore so we kept him out of the contact drills today, just did some straight ahead running on the side. He'll do more stuff tomorrow as he gets assimilated back in practice."

On how big the ASU game is:

"We lost a game and want to get back in the win column. We had such a great run before this Saturday, we want to get back to doing the positive things we've been doing most of the season."

On sophomore cornerback Rodney Van sitting out practice with a boot on his foot:

"He just has turf toe. We expect him to return to practice tomorrow (Wednesday)."
