"I'm going to visit UCLA on December 16th," said Gerhart. "They're right behind Stanford. It's close to home, they've got good academics and I can play both football and baseball there."
Gerhart is scheduled to visit Stanford on January 13th, which he thinks will be his final official trip.
"I'm still talking with Duke and Kansas about the last trip," said Gerhart. "After I take my trip to Stanford, I'll talk with my parents then I'll decide probably after that."
Gerhart said that UCLA, Stanford, Mississippi and Utah have all given him the okay to play both football and baseball. There is also the chance he could be a first-round pick in the MLB draft come June.
"If I go to college, I'll play both sports. But if I play pro ball, it depends. Some (baseball) teams allow it, some don't," Gerhart said.
Rushing for 2,524 yards on the year, Gerhart said while reaching 3,000 yards would be nice, his bigger goal is to win an elusive CIF Championship, something he's missed the last two years. "We've gotten to the Finals the last two years, but lost. I definitely would like to end my career with a championship," said Gerhart.
Gerhart broke Lorenzo Booker's state career rushing record in the 10th game of the season and every yard he rushes for now just adds to the record. He's run for nearly 9,000 yards in his career.
Academically, Gerhart has a 4.67 GPA and scored an 1870 on the new SAT.
