Kia Back From Mainland Tour

Micah Kia, the 6-5, 305-pounder from Hawaii who is the #28-ranked OL in the country, wraps up his third official visit in a week, finishing up at UCLA.

Mililani (Hawaii) tackle Micah Kia (6-5, 305) had a busy week of official visits, and wrapped it up on Sunday with a trip to UCLA.

"I just landed in Hawaii. It was a long week, but it was really good to see those schools. Now I'm going to take some time to think it over," said Kia.

He hopes to make his choice by Christmas Day, but if no decision is reached, it will take him into the New Year.

"I'm going to spend this week making up my mind and if I don't have a decision by Christmas Day, then I will by the second week of January," Kia said.

He visited Tennessee last weekend then sandwiched a trip to Oklahoma in before visiting UCLA.

"UCLA was a really good trip. Shannon Tevaga was my host and I met all of the offensive linemen. They are a close-knit group and I got along with them really well. They are cool and I could see myself playing with them," said Kia.

Kia also spent much of his time with offensive coordinator/line coach Tom Cable as well as head coach Karl Dorrell.

"Coach Cable is a great coach and I enjoyed his company very much. He said he likes me as a tackle and they like me as a weakside tackle," said Kia.

Aside from the football aspect, Kia also spent time scouring the campus and Westwood Village area.

"The thing I liked about UCLA is that even though it's in the city, the UCLA campus was like its own environment and a whole different world. I really enjoyed that," said Kia.

Now he will spend the week poring over his options before making a possible decision by next Sunday.

Academically, Kia holds a 3.8 GPA and has a qualifying SAT by the NCAA Clearinghouse standards.
