2008 Focus: Guard Jrue Holiday

Jrue Holiday, 6-2 SO SG North Hollywood (Calif.) Campbell Hall, is currently the top-rated shooting guard in the West Coast class of 2008. Holiday has good size and quickness, with the ability to score from anywhere on the court. While he's an outstanding scorer, Holiday plays unselfishly and he's a good passer. With continued development, he has a chance to be among the elite players in the national class of 2008.

We spoke with Holiday recently to get his early thoughts on the recruiting process. We asked him which schools have been showing him the most interest so far.

"UCLA, Florida St., Washington, Stanford and Arizona," said Holiday. "Arizona, UCLA and Washington have come out to my school. There may have been others, but those are the ones that I know were out."

Since it's still very early in the process, Holiday doesn't have a real specific list of criteria for choosing a school.

"Just a good basketball team, with a good school where I can get a good education," said Holiday. "Location doesn't really matter."

Holiday's older brother Justin is a very good wing prospect in the class of 2007. We asked Jrue about the possibility of playing with his brother.

"Well, we always wanted to go to North Carolina," said Holiday. "But I'm not sure if I'll choose the same school he does."

When questioned about his mother's preference for a college, Holiday said, "She just wants me to go someplace that has good basketball with a good education."

We asked Holiday if he has given any thought to when he might want to make his decision.

"Not really," said Holiday. "I haven't thought about it much yet."

Holiday said he currently has a B average.
