"I have committed to UCLA, did it today," Kia told Barry Bolton of Scout.com. "I called coach (Dino) Babers, he's my recruiting coach."
Though he missed much of his senior year with a leg injury, Kia entered his final campaign as the top-rated player in the state and the No. 2 offensive lineman in the West. With the commitment of Dylan Rush from Konawaena High, it gives the Bruins the top two players from the Islands this year.
"There wasn't any (one thing) because all the schools are so great and it's hard to put one above the other," said Kia. "But when it came down to it and I leveled everything out and went over all my options, I believe this was the best decision."
Kia is the 8th offensive lineman in the Bruins recruiting class and the highest rated by Scout.com from their line recruits.
Academically, Kia holds a 3.8 GPA and has achieved a qualifying SAT score.
