Are Green and UCLA Still Alive?

The quarterback from Sherman Oaks (Calif.) Notre Dame, Garrett Green, received a scholarship offer from a Big 12 school. But what's the latest with Green and UCLA?

Sherman Oaks (Calif.) Notre Dame quarterback Garrett Green (6-1, 190) has been taking his time on making his college decision, and now has another school in the mix.

Early last week, Green was offered by Nebraska, joining offers from San Diego State, Texas A&M, Ole Miss and Kansas State.

"Nebraska came in for an in-home last week, and they offered me and said they wanted me to take an official visit," said Green. "I'll probably do that in a couple of weeks."

Green has only taken one trip so far, to Harvard, but is running out of time to take those visits, with only three possible weekends left to take four possible trips.

Still, he isn't worried, especially since he's still waiting on an offer from UCLA.

"I talked with (UCLA quarterbacks) Coach (Jim) Svoboda and UCLA is working on me coming in for an official visit," said Green. "I'm possibly taking it this weekend. They haven't given me an indication of if they're going to offer me though."

Should he visit Westwood, it would leave the five other schools to get two available visits.

So if UCLA were to offer, would Green accept it?

"I still want to look at other schools, but it would put them right up there at the top of the list," Green said.

Green was one of the two quarterbacks selected to the California roster for CaliFlorida, and despite the rain and an ugly 20-0 loss, Green relished his experience. "It was cool. I had a great time getting to play with some great players and getting to know them. The game wasn't great, but it was still fun to play with some of those players for the first time," said Green.

Academically, Green is fully qualified.
