UCLA had been waiting on Slocum's most recent transcripts. The 5-10, 190-pound running back took an official visit to Cal this last weekend, having visited UCLA December 17th. Many close to the situation had believed Cal was leading after his official visit to Berkeley, but UCLA's offer, and the subsequent loss of Maurice Drew to the NFL, could help UCLA's chances considerably.
While Green had said he could visit UCLA this weekend, he could very well visit Texas A&M, which was his original intention, according to sources. But it's believed that, now that Green has a UCLA offer, the Bruins are his leader and it's a matter of time before he commits to the UCLA staff. It very well could happen before he actually does take that visit to Texas A&M.
Another UCLA primary recruiting target at this point remains running back Toby Gerhart from Norco, Calif.
Gerhart is scheduled to visit Stanford officially this weekend, and it's believed he'll make his decision pretty quickly after that visit. Gerhart had said Stanford was his leader for a long time, until he visited UCLA on December 17th. UCLA has made up considerable ground and it's known that UCLA has made Gerhart – and Slocum – a big priority.
Darian Hagan, the defensive back from Crenshaw, visited Cal last weeekend and is thought to be close to a decision. It's believed that, at this point, Cal may have the edge.
So, Gerhart, Slocum, Hagan and Green could be announcing their decisions soon.
