Still 100% Sold on UCLA

Another one of UCLA's offensive line commitments, La Puente (Calif.) Bishop Amat tackle Brandon Bennett (6-4, 340), took his official visit to Westwood this past weekend.

"It was a great trip," said Bennett. "I've been committed to UCLA all along, but this just was to make sure, and I'm very excited to be going there."

Bennett spent the weekend with Chris Johnson as his host, while also spending time with several other recruits and current players.

"I went to a lot of games this season, so I got to know a lot of the guys coming in all ready. I'm real comfortable with the guys coming in. We also spent the weekend recruiting the two guys from Florida (Ashton Henderson and Craig Stevens) and they said they were feeling it and liked UCLA a lot," said Bennett.

Bennett said the plan for him is to come in as a guard, but that the possibility of him moving to tackle, where he played at Bishop Amat, remains open down the line.

"Coach (Tom) Cable said they want me to come in as a guard and that I could play tackle later but for now to be ready inside," Bennett said. "We talked about me playing right away and they said I could play early but if I'm not where I need to be physically, then I think I will redshirt."

Bennett committed to the Bruins in May and said some schools still showed interest, but when he told them he was fully committed to UCLA, the interest waned. And he's fine with that. He said, "Honestly, I always knew I was going to go to UCLA, so even with schools writing me and talking to me, I wasn't serious about going anywhere else. This trip showed me why I committed there and I'm excited to be able to play for Coach Cable and Coach Dorrell," said Bennett.

Bennett said he is fully qualified.
