More Info on Junior Day

UCLA had about 35 prospects from the class of 2007 attend Junior Day on campus Saturday. Here's a more comprehensive list of the prospects who attended, including a few sleepers to watch...

This is the list we published Saturday of prospects that showed at UCLA's Junior Day:

Akeem Ayers, LB/DE (Verbum Dei)
Courtney Viney, CB(Fresno Edison)
Raymond Carter, RB (Crenshaw)
Brian Price, DT, wearing a UCLA beanie (Crenshaw)
Chris Carter, LB (Kaiser)
Donovan Warren, CB (LB Poly)
Kenny Rowe, DE (LB Poly)
Bryshon Nellum, WR (LB Poly)
Joseph Redding, WR (LB Poly)
Aaron Corp, QB (Orange Lutheran)
Michael Reardon, TE/DE (Orange Lutheran)
Charlie Carmichael, OL (Notre Dame)
Sam DeMartinis, OL (Notre Dame)
Shane Horton, S (Notre Dame)
Nate Chandler, TE (Mira Mesa)
Markques Simas, WR (Mira Mesa)
Da'John Harris, TE (Serra)
Ronnie Fouch, QB (Redlands East Valley)
Andre Ferguson, LB/DE (Redlands East Valley)
Alex Probasco, DE (Mira Costa)
K.C. Patterson, QB (Fullerton JC)
Cory Yriarte, OL/DL (Paraclete)
Tyrone Duncan, DL (Westlake)
Duke Lemmens, DL (Oaks Christian)

We're hearing that Raymond Carter and Brian Price of Crenshaw are very heavy leans to UCLA right now. It's signficant, given that USC recently offered the pair. UCLA is also the big leader for Courtney Viney.

Showing up late were: Chris Forcier, QB, San Diego St. Augustine; Devin Mahina, DE/TE, Upland; and D.J. Holt, LB, Encino Crespi.

A few discoveries:

-- Wade Bowen, a 6-6, 270-pound prospect who definitely gets the award for coming the furthest distance, all the way from Palmer, Alaska, Colony High School.  Bowen was a good-looking physical specimen.

-- Another good-looking prospect was Mike Harris, a OL/DL from Duarte, Calif. Harris looked to be at least 6-4 and 270.

-- Apiata Tuihalamaka, a defensive end from Gardena Serra, came with Da'John Harris. Tuihalamaka looked to be about 6-3 and 225.

-- Two twin brothers, Herb Thompson and Pat Thompson, from Covina Charter Oak, attended. Both looked to be about 6-5 and 260 and put together well.

Also there (heights and weights estimated):

Steve Sloan, LB, San Jose Archbishop Mitty (6-1, 200)
Todd Doxey, WR/DB, San Diego Hoover (6-1, 185)
Logan Ketchum, WR, Oak Park (6-3, 180)
Anthony Wright, RB, Compton (6-0, 180)
Porter Hill, OL/DL, Compton (6-4, 260)
JJ DiLuigi, DB, Canyon High (5-9, 170)

Chris Meadows, the 5-11 defensive back from Redondo Beach (Calif.) Redondo Union, who you remember visited UCLA officially before graduating in 2004 and going to Idaho, was at practice. Meadows was never offered by UCLA, and it's uncertain as to what his status is now. It could very well be that Meadows is thinking of walking on this winter.
